Background
We Started from scratch. Rented an old freestanding bank building, and did all the research for about 9 months. Researched roasters, and settled on 2 local roasters. We also knew that the area would not support a traditional type coffee house so we added a homestyle type deli.
Keys to Success
Keep on working, don't give up and be willing to invest everything, and be willing to loose everything. You can't hold back anything or try to preserve any of your assets. Be fully commited or don't do it!! ,
Offer the best possible service, never say NO, kill them with kindness, and give them the best possible product for the money. also, provide a clean cormfortable homey atmosphere
Special Events
cuppings, and food promotions, trying to have specials added to the menu, and develop ecclectic dishes not available in the area.
Target Customers
The 25-55 year old customer with higher than average income. Cater to the people that don't know much about coffee but want to by educating them.
Challenges Faced
Labor costs, opening 1 week before 911. No one could predict that.
