Due to its popularity, The Café expanded next door to its original location in 2005, allowing for more folks to enjoy the Café, while still maintaining the same comfortable feel. Open Eye Café is a place where friends gather, where communities come together, and where really great coffee is made and served.
Owners Scott Conary & Elizabeth Justus are both well known in the coffee world as proponents of the highest quality. Justus has been a Barista for over 8 years and has trained many award winning employees. Conary is certified by the SCAA (Specialty Coffee Association of America) in espresso training and sensory evaluation and serves as a Judge for Barista competitions both Nationally and in the World Competitions, and on the USBC Committee. Open Eye Café has also been awarded by the SCAA with the TOPS award for coffee excellence four times in the 5-year history of the award.
The Café carries an extensive selection of espresso and coffee drinks, whole leaf tea and other beverages, such as smoothies and shakes, along with tasty artisian baked goods, and savory food items.
While enjoying your coffee and other treats relax in the eclectic and comfortable atmosphere of this newly refurbished space. The Café features the work of local and traveling artists and also showcases national touring and local musicians throughout the week. With a mind toward their community the Café also contributes to many local, athletic and non-profit organizations.
