Mighty Joe Espresso

Background

This charming little coffeehouse was opened on Halloween, 2005 by Joe Voris after he had been downsized out of corporate America. Nine months into the deal Joe died at the age of 45. The good news is he had a coronary; the bad news is he had just been told he had a horrific, aggressive form of pancreatic cancer that was going to kill him slowly and painfully. The coronary ended up being a tender mercy. Anyway, rather than closing the shop, Joe's wife (my sister-in-law), Vicky, asked me if I would be willing to step in and take over the management of the shop. I said yes despite the fact that I knew nothing about the coffee or food industries. So I dove in head first and got a crash course in how to run a specialty coffee shop. It is now 13 months later and I am still learning, of course, but I now know enough to keep the door open, the coffee brewed and the customer satisfied. I am joining this forum in search of a place for support and to vent when things are crazy. I am presently training a new staff and feel quite overwhelmed.

I never knew I wanted a coffeehouse and now I really do. Amazing what a brother can do for a sister, isn't it? The struggle and long hours have been quite rewarding, to say the least.

That's the deal. So if you are ever in Tucker, GA, stop in at MIGHTY JOE ESPRESSO and we will treat you to a very tasty beverage.
