Everyday Gourmet Coffee Roasters

Background

Everyday Gourmet opened in the St. Lawrence Market in Toronto, 1979, specializing in coffee, tea, spices, sauces and marinades. Over the next twenty-nine years, Everyday Gourmet began to shift its focus to providing costumers with coffee of only the utmost quality. In 1996, Everyday Gourmet further committed itself to providing the best possible coffee by purchasing a coffee roaster and installing it on-site. Everyday Gourmet has since become famous for providing the freshest coffee at very competitive prices. Everyday Gourmet has also become known for offering arguably the widest selection of organic Fair Trade coffee, as well as a wide variety of coffee beans from all over the world. With over 50 coffees, we're sure to have the perfect bean to suit you!

Keys to Success

Our commitment to providing you with a coffee right for you, as well as our desire to share our knowledge with you, the customer, is mainly what separates from our competitors. Every employee at Everyday Gourmet is very knowledgeable about their coffee, because they love their coffee just as much as you. For people all over the world, coffee is how the day is started; you can't have a good day without a good start. On the quest for a great cup of coffee, Everyday Gourmet is the perfect start.

Target Customers

We at Everyday Gourmet would like to think we have something for everyone. Whether you've never had a cup of coffee before in your life, or have been drinking it since you were old enough to hold a coffee mug on your own, we've got something for you. If you are a beginner to coffee, our knowledgeable staff will help you find the best coffee to start with. If you're an experienced coffee drinker just looking for something new, we have a wide range of coffees from all over the world, as well as our very own blends to help you fall in love with coffee all over again. Tea drinkers aren't left out either; Everyday Gourmet has a very large selection of tea from all over the world. Whether it's a simple ceylon or a hard-to-find matcha green, we've got it all!

Challenges Faced

Everyday Gourmet is located in a neighbourhood saturated with coffee shops. Within a three block radius of the St. Lawrence Market, there are six locations, representing three of the biggest coffeehouse chains in North America: Starbucks, Second Cup, and Timothy's. The biggest challenge for Everyday Gourmet, being a family owned and operated business, has been being able to compete against such chains. We have had to provide a product, and an environment, that customers want to come back to again and again. When you walk into Everyday Gourmet, you'll instantly notice a vibrant, yet warm ambiance. If you have a question about a coffee, you'll find that whoever you go to will know the product their selling inside and out. What has helped us stand our own two feet as a coffeehouse for almost thirty years is our passion for coffee and our commitment to passing as much of our knowledge onto you, the customer.

Where We're Headed

This summer Everyday Gourmet will be looking forward to once again taking to the street for the annual Buskerfest event that takes place in the neighbourhood. We hope to build on the success we had last summer, offering customers cool, refreshing iced lattes as well as hot coffee and loose beans. Looking to the future, we are looking to permanently expanding our store to the street by adding a cafe connected right to the main store. We also look forward renovating our coffee bar to provide you with your cappuccino, latte or espresso quicker and more effciently.
