Located near Fort Knox in the state of Kentucky, Arnold’s has been open for almost five years. Providing a variety of coffee, drink, and food options available to its clientèle, Arnold’s strives to satisfy the desires of the individual coffee drinker to the needs of families and large groups through its dining and catering services as well.

People. Quite simply, Arnold’s success is a direct result quality leadership. As a professional chef by trade, GM Angie Weiss plays an invaluable role in developing the diverse menu offerings, coffee blends, and espresso drinks Arnold’s is known for. But like any café or restaurant, the experience of the customer is also tied very closely to the level of service provided. Through careful hiring and training, Weiss has also been able to put together an exceptional support team as well which prides itself on creating quality environment for customers. Coupling excellent food, coffee, and drinks with a helpful and attentive staff, Arnold’s is able to provide each customer with an experience that is heads and shoulders above its competitors.

Special Events

Arnold’s annually participates in a number of major charity events including the Alzheimer’s benefit and wine auction. This event brought over 100 guests to Arnold’s last year, generating $10,000 for research in pursuit of a cure for the disease. Springhaven’s benefit for the local abused woman’s shelter along with the annual Lion’s Club breakfast which raises money for 17 charities around the city are two other important events Arnold’s takes part in each year.

In addition to special charity events, each fall Arnold’s also kicks off the holiday season with a “Taste of the Season” promotional event which lets visitors sample tasty new selections available only during the fall and winter months.

Target Customers

About 75% of Arnold’s customers are business people who come in on a regular basis. As such, as soon as a car pulls up, the staff is usually able to know what that person orders and is able to start preparing it before they even get out of their car. Being close to the Fort Knox military base means a number of military personnel visit Arnold’s each day as well.

Challenges Faced

Being a part of the very competitive foodservice industry means that one must be willing and able to quickly adapt to the desires of its consumers. Based primarily upon customer feedback, Arnold’s has already undergone remodeling on three different occasions to gradually evolve from a simple coffee café to a restaurant serving soup, salad, sandwiches and a brick oven menu. Arnold’s now provides meals and snacks for all parts of the day. From a morning muffin to a lasagna dinner, Arnold’s serves it. In addition to the food offerings, Arnold’s has also added a selection of fine wines and beers to appeal to yet another set of clientèle. All in all, its about listening to what the customers are looking for and striving fill those needs, even if it means totally changing the primary focus of your business.

  • They serve only the finest SCAA “Golden Cup” coffee roasted by two of the country’s finest roasters.

  • To ensure minimum impurities and the utmost quality, Arnold’s uses a $10,000 water treatment system that feeds water directly from treatment into the coffee, tea, or espresso machines with the ideal level of water hardness.
